Peanuts are the nut gotten from matured peanut pods and they come in varieties of shapes, sizes, and colours. Products gotten from these plants includes Peanut oil, cakes, butter, and flour

PRODUCTION

Peanut oil; also called groundnut oil is a vegetable oil extracted from the matured seed of the plant and its popularly used for frying purposes

Peanut Cakes; these are the by-product left off from the extraction of oil from the seed. They can be used as livestock feeds and they are rich in protein, carbohydrates, and minerals.

Peanut Butter; is a paste gotten from roasted peanuts and are used as spread and other purposes. It often contains additional ingredients used to enhance the taste and texture

Peanut Flour; is a flour product gotten from dried milled peanut seed and it can be used in place of regular flour in baking.

Peanuts can be exported in any of the various ways listed above. The seeds can also be dried or roasted, properly packaged and shipped.

USES

It has its varieties of industrial end uses such as paint, lubricating oil, insecticides etc. Soaps and many cosmetics also contain derivatives of peanuts. The shells are used in manufacture of plastics, fuel, wall board etc. It has its application in the textile industry.
